The Roof Cleaning Process

Soft-washing is the best way to remove the moss from your roof. Unlike blasting a roof with a pressure washer the key is in the name SOFT-washing. Take a look below at the process that we follow. Safety and care is always at the forefront of our mind when cleaning a roof.

Roof full of moss, ready to be cleaned

The Beginning.

This customer called us with a moss-infested and badly discoloured roof. The first stage involves us hand scraping and brushing each individual tile to remove as much moss, algae and lichen as possible. This is done without the use of high pressure water, which could easily cause leaks.

Post Scraping.

Once the roof had been de-mossed, we spray the roof with a market-leading biocide chemical. The chemical begins working immediately, killing off any of the algae, lichen and mossy remains.

Post Spraying & Aftercare

After the roof has been sprayed, we leave the elements to do the work. For more dirty, stubborn roofs the full cleansing process can take up to 9 months, however, a big difference can be noted in the first few months. We then offer an annual retreatment programme to keep the roof clean and moss-free at a fraction of the price!
